Selena Gomez tries on chola alter ego for MTV European Music Awards promo
Selena Gomez has unleashed a tough alter ego in a new promo for her hosting gig at the 2011 MTV's European Music Awards. Gomez, who hosted MTV's Video Music Awards Pre-Show, is planning to fly to Northern Ireland to host the MTV EMAs at the Odyssey Arena on November 6. In the promo, Gomez swaps between her regular sweet facade and a feisty chola-inspired character. The Award Show is set to air in the United States on TR3s: MTV at 6 p.m. ET. Gomez rose to fame with the Disney Channel series "The Wizards of Waverly Place" and is also known for her pop music and high-profile relationship with fellow teen singer Justin Bieber. After the two stepped out together publicly last year, several of his fans reportedly posted death threats and other nasty online messages to Gomez, although no legal action was taken. Earlier in the week, Gomez was granted a restraining order against a man with a history of mental illness who authorities say had made a death threat against her. The MTV EMAs will feature performances from the likes of Lady Gaga, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay and Bruno Mars, while presenters include Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWOWW" Farley from the MTV reality show "Jersey Shore." It’s official: Justin Bieber is better than the Beatles.
That’s according to Billboard’s metrics, which show Bieber besting a record previously held by both the Beatles and Drake: The most songs on the chart in a single week.
Bieber placed 17 songs on the December 5 edition of the Hot 100, up from 14 by the Beatles on April 11, 1964 and by Drake on March 7 and October 17 of this year. The Beatles record stood for more than 50 years, occurring at the height of Beatlemania.

Selena Gomez absolutely killed her 2015 American Music Awards performance of "Same Old Love," but Raven-Symoné didn't seem as pleased. The That's So Raven actress said that she likes her fellow former Disney Channel star better in a band! (If you recall, the pop star used to front a band called Selena Gomez and the Scene.)
Of course, Raven admitted that she wasn't there, so she can't really speak for Selena's performance. But we were watching from back home, and we thought that she totally slayed her rendition!
Do you agree with Raven? Do you miss Selena in a...
Selena Gomez’s “Good For You” remix package was a little lackluster (Phantoms’ sexy overhaul was the pick of the bunch), but Interscope knocks it out of the park with “Same Old Love.” Four of the hottest producers in dance music put their spin on the diva’s rising hit including 15-year-old Romos, Israeli heavy-hitter Borgore, Skrillex-affiliated Wuki (his trap interpretation is a club monster) and Austrian wunderkind filous.
The teenager’s version is the only remix currently streaming online and it’s something of a departure from the dreamy soundscapes he usually conjures. filous’ remix has the lullaby-like quality he’s (becoming)...
